every year seeking employment, a better life and standard of living.

America exemplifies economic opportunities and a better life.
Relationship between United States and Poland
From the beginning of the 1900s, the relationship between
the USA and Poland has shifted considerably.
This was the time of political and economic transformation
in the EU. The mutual cooperation between these two countries
is apparent through the membership of Poland in the European
Community. This membership demonstrates the entire framework
of trade and foreign direct investments in Poland.
However, in terms of foreign direct investments, USA is
surprisingly considered as the 4th biggest sender of capital
to Poland.
Immigration Conditions between the United States and Poland
In 1880, when America was transforming from an agricultural to
an industrial and urban society, it opened its doors for all those
who wanted to join hands in this big experiment which needed manpower
heavily. This was the time when the big wave of polish immigrants set off,
most of them belonging to southern, central and Eastern Europe.
The initial big flow of polish immigrants was led by a Franciscan,
which consisted of a group of 300 Upper Silesian peasants seeking a job v
on the huge cotton plantations.
During and after World War II, the second wave of polish immigrants
arrived to the Untied States. As Poland lost its independence due to
Yalta conference resolutions and became part of the Soviet Block,
the immigrants were mostly refugees rather than economic immigrants.
The third wave of immigration consisted of various groups of people
who brought new and innovative ideas and expectations to the USA.
Most of them could speak good English and had relatively good
educational backgrounds. These people did not take long to adjust
to the new life and conditions as compared to their predecessors.
They wanted to live and work in the country and lead a successful
professional life.
